đź’» Mother Armenia v2.0 has been deployed to the web

Late on October 25th (around 2 AM), Mother Armenia v2 was deployed to the web. Besides a completely revised backend server and database structure, the next version of Mother Armenia also introduces some convenience and enhancement features:

  • Added “work” logs — an easy way to keep track of what’s been done.
Every time Mother Armenia does work for a project, like delivering goods or facilitating an aspect for a project, we’ll add it under the project’s work section. For now, work is displayed on our Completed Projects page, although we’ll most likely revise how work is displayed and add work to each project page individually.

  • Payment methods can be added, changed, or removed in the dashboard.
If you want to have multiple payment methods or change a payment method, you can now do so right within the dashboard. After logging in, there is now a “payment methods” card which allows you to manage all payment methods.

  • Detailed donation history is now visible.
Every time your donation comes through, mother-armenia-lib (our system) records how much of your donation goes to a certain project. This information is now available in the dashboard, and you can see down to the penny where each of your donations went, and even download a PDF receipt for your records.

  • Database was restructured for increased reliability, and many tasks were moved to the server (like payment processing) to increase speed.
Many of the previous tasks that happened on the client or middle server were moved to the back-end server to decrease request times. Processing payments and dashboard load times have been reduced by approximately 50%.
